Friday April 1: Beginning of Vietnam War

Today we will begin chapter 29 on The Vietnam War.

This is probably one of the most controversial wars in U.S. history. On Friday, we will look at the beginning of the Vietnam War. After Friday, you should understand why we ended up in Vietnam.

Civil Rights Era

Today we are starting the Civil Rights Movement. You will learn about the struggles that African American went through in the 50’s and 60’s to advance themselves and achieve the rights guaranteed to them in the Declaration of Independence and Bill of Rights.

Many historians believe his assassination marked a turning point in the history of the U.S. and changed the course of events in the 1960’s. 60’s Music Group Project

Bob Dylan - A "voice" of the Sixties

On Monday, you will be introduced to your next big assignment for this class.

This will be a group project where you will research an artist and a song from the 1960’s.  This will help you learn the changes to music in the Sixties and how it influenced the culture and politics of America.

Chapter 25/26 Test Study Guide

Cold War Test Now on Friday


The Test on Chapter 25 (originally scheduled for Wednesday) will now be on Friday. We will cover chapter 26 on Monday and Wednesday. Chapter 26 will be included on Friday’s test.

So on Friday, you will be tested on Chapters 25 and 26.

Today (Monday) we will begin Chapter 26 on Eisenhower Era (1950’s). You will be given “Guided Reading Notes.” The Eisenhower Era Guided Reading Notes will be due on Wednesday March 9.
